Wow. It’s been 6 months since I started to post (fairly) regularly on here and I am very proud of the fact that I could be creative enough to come up with content for the six months. And a happy six-month-versery to my “favorites” posts… how are you not tired of them yet?

First up, Happiness Begins. I have already mentioned my JoBro fangirl development here so I don’t need to go over that again. But when they announced that their new album was coming out on June 7th, I was low-key excited to the outside world but my inner tweenage self was high-key excited. When it finally came out, it was the only thing I listened to on my runs. I try to switch it up but I just end up going back to it anyways. Other than Sucker, I’d have to say that Only Human is my favorite song on the album. The songs are all so unique to each other, too. Sometimes, I feel like some artists’ songs sound the same. For me its Sam Smith. He has a great voice, the music is good and the lyrics are nice, but I can’t tell the difference between the songs when they come on the radio. This album is nothing like that. If you listen to each song shuffled randomly into a playlist, the only way you can tell it is the Jonas Brothers is by knowing their voices, not by the style of music. However, I will say that I am disappointed that there is no Kevin singing solo and I am bothered by that.

Also, along with their new album, A Color Story and the Jonas Brothers have created a filter pack that goes with Happiness Begins. I started using the color story app to edit photos a few months ago so already having the app with the new JoBro filters was a plus for me. Also, the filters are all really nice too. Here is a photo from my Instagram using one of the filters.

I liked the A Color Story app before the Happiness Begins filters (oh wow, she’s such a hipster *eye rolls*) and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of editing their photos for aesthetic reasons. Photoshopping one’s face and body is not something I agree with but we might get into that another time.

Also, Pride Month was this month which is always exciting. I was able to finally explain my sexuality in this post in much more detail than the other times I’ve brought it up. Even some of my friends who I have explained it to in person got a better understanding of it and even showed it to their friends. That post I was surprisingly nervous to put up which is why it took me so long to do so. Asexuality and all of the other sexualities on its spectrum are often pushed aside or not really accepted as real sexualities, which is dumb, and I’ve experienced people who are close to me dismiss my sexuality and tell me that I’m just trying to label myself just to feel included. I also got to feature one of my friends who is both transgender and pansexual which was exciting since I have a few friends who identify as one or the other. I am very glad that he did write something too because it made me appreciate Pride even more because I got to know what it meant to them. I also had the opportunity to be a part of the Providence Pride Parade earlier this month with Starbucks which was a lot of fun. I had never been able to go to any pride event due to work or other commitments so getting to be in the parade as my first pride experience was great and so much fun. Although I will say that my truck dying on me while I was stuck in the parking garage traffic put a damper on the excitement of the night.

I have been trying to find a deodorant with the same values that I have and I came across an Instagram add for Myro. It’s a cruelty-free, non-toxic, and more sustainable deodorant. When you initially order, you get to choose the reusable case you want (I chose the color Moss) and my first scent pod is called Chill Wave which is cucumber, jasmine, and spearmint for a total of $10 (the case is free but I prefer to think it’s 5 and 5). Then, if you choose to subscribe you get a bulk order of three pods ($30) in a couple of months, for me it’ll be in July. You can choose the same scent or choose a few different ones to try since they have five different scents. Plus the refills are in a recyclable plastic pod so when one finishes, you can recycle that one and then replace it in the reusable case that you ordered initially. Their method to create a more sustainable deodorant by using a clean formula and reducing the plastic waste by about 50%. I think that’s pretty impressive. They also say that your body will take time to adjust to the new formula and that it will take about four weeks. It’s been about two weeks for me and it seems like my body has almost completely adjusted to it. I highly recommend this deodorant if you are looking for a planet-friendly deodorant option.

Now, something I forgot to mention last month. I am an ambassador for the brand Wholesome Culture which you may have seen ads for on Instagram. Their mission is to promote a more plant-based and sustainable lifestyle, all while spreading good vibes and giving back to the community I thoroughly enjoy their products and have already made a few purchases myself. My top three favorites are the “There is no Planet B”, “Protect Our Pollinators”, and “Plant These, Save The Bees” shirts but they also have so many other styles and sayings that these products can be for anyone who wants to spread kindness (another one of their shirt designs by the way). On top of the inspirational and motivational shirt designs, they also have great materials and packaging. Most of the shirts are made out of organic cotton but then there are eco-tees that are made up partly of organic cotton, and then partly made with recycled plastic water bottles. And, the packaging it comes in… it’s also biodegradable. I mean how cool is that. I will, however, be the first to admit that the products are a little pricey, but for the quality that you are getting as well as the portion of proceeds that goes to help three different animal rescues/sanctuaries makes you feel a lot less guilty. If you use this link you’ll get a 10% discount on your next purchase. (Your welcome)

Lastly, Grand Assembly is one of my favorite times of the year because I get to see my friends from all over the state (for reference, you can read my post here) I got to support my friend Megan one last time for her year as Grand Worthy Advisor by dressing up as an astronaut one last time (maybe). I also got to see a bunch of my friends before I move and make sure that they are aware that I am in fact moving this summer. Some of the girls from my home assembly got some great new grand offices and representative appointments and I am so excited for them. It also makes me want to move away even less now because I won’t be physically to support them. This is probably one of my most favorite Grand Assemblies I have had the opportunity to attend and I am so grateful that I got to be here for it. I guess I’ll just have to come back again next year to see what my other friend, Jesse, the newest Grand Worthy Advisor, will have in store.

For me, this month has been filled with love and chaos and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But what are your thoughts? Comment below what were some of your favorite things this month? Are there any things you tink I should try?
